As health care costs continue to rise, Aldine ISD is forced to make some important plan changes for the coming year. The reason is simple. The money we pay in claims each year far exceeds the amount we collect in premiums. The district is making up for the deficit in 2019. We must work together to control costs.
The good news?
The district has carefully chosen this year's plan offerings to give you a range of cost and coverage options. Consider your options and decide which plan is best for you.
Here's what's changing:
We're offering two plans, with two different networks. Both of these plans will cover eligible medical expenses, so it's just a question of determining which balance of cost and coverage best meets your needs.
To help control premium costs, we’re implementing a $250 copay for Open Access Select members when they go to an Emergency Room. This copay will be waived if you are admitted to the hospital.
KelseyCare HMO will no longer be an offered plan option. The reason for this is because the Open Access Select Plan now includes access to Kelsey-Seybold’s network of clinics and health professionals.
The plans are:
There are no changes to our voluntary plans for 2019. However, there is a slight price increase in the dental and YMCA plans. Check our voluntary plans for more information.
You will be able to use any remaining money in your HealthFund to help cover eligible medical expenses until December 31, 2019.
It’s important to do your research and make sure you know what network your doctor is in before you enroll.
Go to Aetna’s doc find tool.
Please note: If you do not see your physician based on your search criteria, you can enter the name of your physician and search without choosing a plan. Once your physician name appears, click the hyperlink to see accepted plans.
Once you have determined what network your doctor is in, and considered all of your options, you will be ready to enroll. Remember, Annual Enrollment is 11/2/18 - 11/14/18. You must enroll in order to ensure you choose the plan that's right for you.
New for 2019, The RediMD telehealth service allows you to have a doctor’s appointment online or by phone, day or night to diagnose a health concern, recommend treatment or prescribe medications, for only $35.
